“Sound of Soul” was produced and recorded by E James Paris contains two unique 1960’s Motown style songs, “Motown Hitsville USA” and “The Spirit Moves Through It” that convey a faint hint of modern sound in the mix to enhance pop quality to them. A cappella versions of both songs are also included to show off variety of Kevin Maxim’s vocal range and super soulful Funk / R&B style. The last surviving Motown Funk Brother Jack Ashford is also featured as he makes the vocal announcements on “Motown Hitsville USA” and his famous Tambourine can be heard playing on both songs. “Motown Hitsville USA” was recorded at the famous Memphis, Tennessee Royal Studio with two time Grammy award winning engineer, (Boo) Laurence Mitchell, Luxtone studio Boise, Idaho and at GenRev studio Meridian, Idaho.
